Guest Blogger Kathy Doyle on Beverly Hills Dream Homes

This week’s Guest Blogger Kathy Doyle helps families find their dream homes.

As a Beverly Hills and Malibu broker, I find so much joy in helping families find their dream homes. The search for a home is such a personal thing, and each family has their own personality, needs, and wants for the home that will be the foundation for their memories. Beverly Hills is an ideal place for young people to grow up. There is culture, safety, privacy, community spirit, wonderful schools, and fantastic neighbors. I love the diversity of Beverly Hills and the fact that it is so central to all of Los Angeles, yet feels like an idyllic small town in the middle of it all. I also love that parents can get much needed R &R without leaving the city limits. This balanced lifestyle allows parents to be incredibly supportive while raising the next generation of leaders in the community.

I recently helped a newly married (formerly longtime bachelor) with his home search. It was so sweet to help this career-man who had purchased his Hollywood Hills bachelor pad with me several years earlier, become family minded as he looked for the perfect place to raise his family. He wanted Beverly Hills proper for the great schools, emergency response, and city services. He also wanted a home close to the beautifully re-done library so he could introduce his little ones to books. This home needed a guesthouse so grandma could move in when the baby came and a large lawn for young tykes to run around.  Eventually, we ended up finding his dream home in the flats north of Santa Monica Blvd. The cape cod style home made for one very happy former bachelor.

Recently, I worked with another family in finding their Beverly Hills dream home. The parents are young entrepreneurs from Southeast Asia. This incredibly kind, generous family had in mind a beautiful home to spend their summers and holidays. Top of their wants list: privacy, beautiful and tasteful design, and large lots with beautiful landscaping. Their goal was to find two properties close to each other; one for the young family and one for visiting relatives. We looked for statement homes with classic, tasteful décor, proximity to Rodeo Drive’s world class shopping and restaurants and luxurious landscaping with green space for the young children to play. The family is excited about the availability of summer arts programs, as well as, the cultural and entertainment possibilities in Beverly Hills. I was thrilled when we found two properties that fit the family’s needs and they are excited to call Beverly Hills their second home.

Whether families are looking for great schools, great activities, great community culture, or great shopping, Beverly Hills has so much to offer families looking for a home to raise a family.

Are you a BH Mom-in-the-making? Looking for your family dream home? It could be just a phone call away.
